Kent George, director of the Broward County Aviation Department has announced that Helena James-Rendleman has been named the finance director of the Aviation Department.
"We're pleased to have Helena join us," George said. "She brings a tremendous background in the financial and aviation industries as well as a passion for our industry."
For the past five years James-Rendleman served as the director of budgets and profitability for Virgin America Airlines and was one of the 10 founding employees. She previously served as the vice president of finance for MyTravel North America and the vice president of commerce and chief financial officer for Sun Trips, Inc. Earlier in her career, James-Rendleman served in various financial management and analyst positions with employers such as Deloitte & Touche, Bankers Trust and Airtours.
James-Rendleman holds a bachelor's degree from Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, a business degree from Hochschule Bremen in Germany and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales -- the United States equivalent of a certified public accountant.
In addition to a working knowledge of German, she speaks fluent Swedish.
