Broward County governmental offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
All branches of the Broward County Library will be closed. Customers can visit the library's Web site at www.broward.org/library to search the online catalog, place holds and renew selected materials.
All Broward County regional and neighborhood parks, nature centers, and natural areas will be closed on Veterans Day. Butterfly World at Tradewinds Park, All Golf at C.B. Smith Park, and the Ski Rixen at Quiet Waters Park, as well as the campgrounds at C.B. Smith Park, Easterlin Park, Markham Park and T.Y. Park will remain open.
Broward County Transit will operate regular service hours on Veterans Day. Customer service representatives will be available to take your calls from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 954-357-8400, or TTY 954-357-8302, or visit the Web site at www.broward.org/bct.
The Animal Care and Regulation Division's two animal shelters will be closed. An Animal Care officer will be on duty to handle emergencies involving animal attacks or bites, injured animals and police requesting assistance. The Aviation Department Administrative Offices at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will be closed; however, phone calls will be answered.
The Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) will be operating the 24-hour detoxification and residential programs on an emergency basis, but the administrative offices and outpatient services will be closed.
The Sexual Assault Treatment Center will operate the Crisis Intake Unit on a 24-hour emergency basis, but the administrative offices will be closed. In case of an emergency, call the 24-hour hotline at 954-761-7273 (954-761-RAPE), or TTY 954-765-4195.
The Broward County Residential Trash Transfer Stations, located in Pompano Beach at 2780 N. Powerline Road, West Park at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd., and in Davie at 5490 Reese Road, will be closed. For more information, call 954-765-4999.
