The Florida Gold Coast Clean Cities Coalition has been working to increase awareness of alternative fuels and emphasize the need for petroleum reduction through events planned throughout November. With oil prices on the rise and a national and local emphasis on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through a domestic fuel source, the Gold Coast Clean Cities Coalition is driven to raise local awareness through education and outreach.

Broward County Government has been a member of the Gold Coast Clean Cities Coalition for more than a decade and works with the Coalition to promote the use of alternative fuels and alternative fueled vehicles in South Florida, increase the available infrastructure, and educate public and private fleet managers about the benefits of alternative fuels and funding opportunities.

Events planned throughout November are:

Sunday, November 8, 2:45 p.m.
The Gold Coast Clean Cities Coalition will sponsor a documentary about the history of oil prices and the future of alternative fuels during the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival at the Cinema Paradiso, 503 S.E. Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale. The film will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers, a display of alternative fuel vehicles and a reception. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance through the festival Web site
www.fliff.com.
